About Our Client
Our client is a small independent specialist college for students with learning disabilities. They are dedicated to broadening their students' horizons and enabling them to become independent and gain the skills they need to become successful adults.
As part of ongoing development plans, our client is now looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join them in September 2017, working during term time only.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll help Teachers to deliver high quality and engaging education and training to students with learning disabilities.
In this rewarding role, you will:
- Inspire and encourage students through the transition from school to college
- Enable students to participate in independent living and working
- Facilitate a positive, supportive learning environment
- Help students to realise their full potential
To become one of our client's Learning Support Assistants, you will need:
- Experience of working with children and/or young people with learning difficulties within an education environment
- Excellent IT skills
- At a minimum, five GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above, including Maths and English
- Outstanding communication skills
- A positive and proactive approach
Experience of working with complex and challenging behaviour would be beneficial, but this is by no means essential.
Other organisations may call this role a Teaching Assistant, TA, Tutor, Personal Tutor or Behavioural Support Assistant. Our client is also interested in hearing from people who have held the post of Learning Coach, Classroom Assistant, Educational Assistant or Learning Support Co-ordinator.
