We are currently recruiting for a Computing Trainer Facilitator/Assessor, to join our Hi-Tech & Digital [Engineering & Computing] team, here at South Devon College. You will be required to instruct and facilitate learning for students enrolled on a range of programmes, as assigned by the Section Head and Programme Co-Ordinators, undertake assessment of students’ knowledge and competence as appropriate by formal or informal methods and undertake teaching responsibilities commensurate within the requirements of the post in a way which demonstrated the high standards expected of colleagues. This post will include the delivery of functional skills as required across the breadth of the Section. You will also be responsible and contribute to curriculum development and implementation of pastoral and welfare systems provided for students, and play a key role in developing and maintaining outstanding working relationships with external and internal customers.

The successful candidate will need to hold a relevant level 3 qualification(s) or above in computing networking, computing systems and programming. Have evidence of continued professional and personal development, have evidence of English and maths to GCSE Level C (or equivalent), have an assessor’s award or be prepared to work towards. Have experience in computer software and hardware maintenance, creating web sites and applications with relevant up to date subject knowledge, be familiar with Microsoft packages and be able to contribute in the development of the provision and identification of growth areas.

You will need to be able to travel between sites and undertake industrial visits including offsite training and assessment, therefore you will need to hold a full current Driving Licence with access to a car or other appropriate form of transport, due to the remoteness of some of the locations and lack of public transport.
