Are you an experienced design / technical professional based in the Exeter area? Do you have experience in residential development and/or main contracting? Are you looking to work on a strong order book? About the client: My client is an established developer and are seeking a Design Manager to undertake a technical function on all technical, engineering and architectural aspects of the business from land identification through to post construction phase. Upon joining you will find yourself working on a variety of projects across the South West and with a strong order book for two years. My client is looking for an experienced design professional to lead the design division and work with the Technical Manager to ensure engineering solutions. About the opportunity: As the point of contact for design, you will take development from concept through to design freeze. It`s expected you will have a proven track record in design coordination within residential or main contracting. As Design Manager you will have experience dealing with service providers, planning and building control along with highway coordination. Previous experience as a technical coordinator or project manager is expected for this role. To summarise: - Coordinate everyone involved in accordance to timescales and budgets - Arrange design team meetings and action those accordingly - Work closely with business development team and estimating team - Manage external Architects, Mechanical and Electric Engineers, Structural Engineers and other consultants involved - Manage planning applications and processes - Manage live sites and oversee them from a technical view point - Issue technical reports and coordinate the information to relevant consultants - Manage and oversee technical fee budgets. About you: You will be an excellent communicator with a high attention to detail. It`s expected you will have extensive experience of working within established development methodologies. Alongside a positive attitude and reactive nature, you will need to have a sound understanding of the technical functions within the remit of a technical professional and how they impact on site acquisition and development. Previous experience in delivering private and affordable projects whilst managing complex developments, is key for this role. How to apply?
