Environment Manager Circa £40k plus package Plymouth Experis are recruiting on behalf of our Client a leading Engineering Support Services organisation for an experienced Environmental Management professional to join their team in Plymouth to act as the subject matter expert for Environmental matters and legislative frameworks on the site. The main responsibilities of this role are as follows - - Preparation / production of reports and suites of information relating to environment - Liaise with suppliers and internal resources to overcome or mitigate environmental risks and provide support with technical queries - Assist with the Environmental Risk Assessment process and sign off where necessary - Create an Environmental Assurance Programme and where required carry out Environmental Assurance Inspections and Audits - Produce Audit reports and support the process of closing any non-conformances or the sharing of positive practices - Develop Environmental Management System to comply with ISO 14001 - Support departments with queries relating to environmental management - Manage and evolve the Environmental Aspects Register - Support the identification and delivery of training relating to environmental matters - Mange and report on numerous Environmental Permits - Management and development of direct report The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience - - Degree qualified in related environmental subject or demonstrable career history within similar role - Member of a relevant professional body at a minimum of Practitioner or equivalent level - Proven experience in carrying out Environment Management in complex organisations - Experience of developing and implementing Environmental Management Systems - particularly those accredited to ISO14001 - An accredited EMS Auditor qualification - Thorough working knowledge of pollution prevention - Experience of waste management including classification, collection, processing, disposal, managing and monitoring of waste - Good knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations and the associated compliance obligations for holders of environmental permits - Strong communication and influencing skills - able to lead with clarity and credibility - Must be able to gain and maintain UK SC level security clearance This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large complex site for an experience Environmental professional - allowing high visibility and the chance to lead and develop Environmental Improvement and Assurance programmes.
