Engineering Manager - Medical Device
The company: My client is a dynamic, fast growing international medical device business with innovative product portfolio and impressive growth plans. Due to their continuing success, an opportunity has been created for an Engineering Manager to support facilities maintenance, process engineering, process development, continuous improvement and process maintenance. The Site Engineering Manager (medical device) role: - Leadership of all engineering groups including: maintenance engineering, process engineering and facilities management ( a team of 6) - To act as a member of the site leadership team and operational management meetings - Establishes and controls Engineering department budget. - Provide support to manufacturing equipment and facilities - Develops, revises standard operating procedures and process work instructions - Manages site validations - Help develop the culture of continuous improvement through lean manufacturing activities and other methodologies - Development of all engineering personnel to continue to raise levels of skill, capability and professional competence through: structured coaching, experiential learning and training. - Driving best in class standards of asset maintenance, performance and reliability through reliability centred maintenance approaches. - Working effectively with group engineering on the development of all major capital projects ensuring that all key milestones are met and that benefits are delivered in line with commitments and business expectations. To be considered for the role you will need: - Bachelor of Science degree required in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent. - Substantial and extensive experience of working in plant engineering. - Previous Leadership experience in a plant and maintenance engineering function essential - an excellent experience based knowledge of quality management systems - substantial achievements in the implementation and maintenance of best in class maintenance systems. - Experience of implementation and development of lean manufacturing principles - prior achievement in the effective management of organisational change through building a culture in her/his organisation which supports that change.
