We currently have a vacancy for a Mental Health Support Worker and DIY Enthusiast/ Specialist. This is a unique opportunity to combine your skills.

Mosaic Clubhouse in Brixton is an integrated clubhouse and resource centre providing personalised community support to people with mental health problems in Lambeth. Our aim is to create a supportive community and opportunity centre, designed to identify and fulfil individual and collective potential. Members' work, energy and ideas are needed to make the clubhouse function. Clubhouse members actively participate in decision-making and in all operational and administrative functions of the Clubhouse, and the services it provides to members and visitors to the centre.

The Caf?? and Garden Unit is responsible for running the caf??, hosting events plus all cleaning gardening and maintenance which includes the ford galaxy.

To work closely with the Programme Manager and Caf?? and Garden Coordinator to ensure that Mosaic Clubhouse complies with all relevant health and safety legislation, and that all planned maintenance is carried out to a high standard. This is of particular importance in our relationships with other providers who will occupy our building on a sessional basis, and who must comply with our policies. This post will help to ensure that all relevant training takes place, new staff are inducted, and that both staff and members are aware of relevant policies, procedures and maintenance schedules.

At all times, the post holder will work in partnership with the members and staff of Mosaic Clubhouse and must promote participation in decision making.

Members are supported to access personalised support strategies available throughout the clubhouse including education and employment (through the E,E&I unit), housing and legal support, recovery planning, community social and leisure activity development.

Essential Criteria:

* Educated with good grades at A level standard or equivalent at a minimum
* Fluent English speaker.
* Good IT skills: experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, email.
* Prior experience working with mental health services users in a community rehabilitation programme / support or therapeutic context.
* Prior experience planning and implementing activities and events.
* Knowledge and sensitivity to the ICCD Clubhouse Model and a commitment to participatory approaches.
* Proven track record of supporting individuals towards successful employment and educational development in the context of mental health or other disadvantaged groups.
* Understanding of the needs of people with a mental illness issues, relevant legislation and practice guidelines e.g., current mental health legislation and health and safety legislation.
* Full, clean driving license.
* Previous experience of working in a maintenance/DIY/facilities environment or as a hobby.

Salary: GBP26,371.98 per Annum
