Providing support to the Head of Naval Architecture and the other members of the Naval Architecture Group, the Naval Architect - Composites role focuses on all matters of composite part production; ensuring that our client has the most cost effective composites scantlings and processes to deliver class leading performance and aesthetics. Responsibilities / Tasks - Work activities as required by the senior Naval Architecture Group members. - Resolution of clashes within structural arrangements to ensure fit, form and function - Creation Bill of Materials for composite parts together with cutting lists, core models, etc. such that Production can manufacture the parts in an efficient manner - Create drawings and instructions as required to ensure Production can manufacture the parts correctly in the required TAKT time - Adherence to the Composites Work Instructions and other Development Standards raising improvement suggestions - Drafting of Work Element Sheets as required - Research and development activities as agreed with the Head of Naval Architecture - Support of production activities as agreed with the Head of Naval Architecture - Attendance at team meetings on behalf of the Naval Architecture Group, accurately reporting back to the team, closing actions as required - Adherence to all aspects of Health, Safety and Security Policies - Acting as an Ambassador for our client, operating with integrity and drive appropriate to the Company's values, to promote our client as a market leader. Personal Specification - Degree qualified in relevant discipline or relevant experience in lieu - Working towards professional status with the Engineering Council through a suitable body (Royal Institution of Naval Architecture, Institution of Marine Engineers, etc.). - Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Siemens NX & Teamcentre. Experience with FEA analysis (e.g. CODA) software and regulatory software (RINA STR-DIP; Hullscant) would be an advantage. - Hands on Composites manufacturing experience is advantageous. - Results oriented approach with good analytical, team leadership and organisational skills - Excellent team working skills - Ability to work under pressure in a cross functional organisation - Ability to work with minimal supervision - Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills - Recognition of and understanding of the luxury goods, luxury yacht market and client base from a practical perspective If you are an experienced Naval Architect and are currently looking for a new challenge, then please submit an up to date CV by using the 'apply' button below.
