Due to continued growth, this leading aerospace business is seeking to appoint an experienced production planner to join their team. The successful applicant will be required to schedule and control inventory from raw material to final assembly & shipment to customer. This includes the provisioning and co-ordination of subcontracted components and to provide delivery promise and status information. To monitor Value Stream performance and capacity against required output levels. To work with other Value Stream Planners, providing information and reporting. Participating in necessary action to enable Business Plan to be achieved. Tasks - Work with members of the planning team and production management, to develop and manage value stream specific production plans in line with customer delivery date expectations, including the generation of weekly Demand Capacity Checks (DCC). - Confirm orders, within capacity, and monitor progress through all production areas. - Develop and operate systems that monitor, level load and support production output activity and control inventory levels of relevant materials and components, - Monitor and improve OTD/OTIF. - Ensure SAP master data is accurate and supports the overall value stream. - Present Planning and Production KPIs to Senior management at daily meetings and other forums as required. - Respond knowledgably when challenged, by being fully conversant with all aspects of production, material and resource constraints affecting production. - Expedite internal and external orders and as required of raw material and components in order to support schedules. - Ensure the requirements of Customer Services, Manufacturing Engineering, Production and all other internal customers (on the Planning Department) are met in accordance with specific guidelines. - Ensure systems of work comply with the requirements as laid down by ISO9001:2000, and ISO14001, and all relevant ISPI's - Ensure systems of work comply with the requirements of the company health and safety policy. Training Skills and experience required - Relevant experience of production planning/scheduling at an appropriate level with formal qualifications to be at least HNC/HND standard required. - Detailed knowledge of SAP and use of Microsoft Office Suite of products. Highly desirable - The job holder must be a self starter, a team player and demonstrate above average interpersonal skills. In particular they should possess excellent communication skills and ability to interact with their extended team and other departments as required. The role requires careful attention to detail and the job holder will have the capability to liaise with all other departments. - The Incumbent requires a good working knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes and have the ability to operate within those systems.
