At Gregory Distribution Ltd (GDL), as a result of continued growth, we have avacancy for a Ledgers Manager based at our Head Office in North Tawton. This is an exciting opportunity to make your own within the GDL business . The position involves: · Lead and develop the AP/AR team, including recruitment, talent management and succession planning. · Be a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) as part of the new Finance system implementation, leading the process changes for AP and AR. · Be an integral part of a ‘Purchase to Pay’ process roll out. · Be responsible for customer and supplier master data management. · Improve document flow across the business, reducing manual processes to improve efficiency. · Build relationships with the operations management team to ensure revenue generation and collection is maximised. · Optimise working capital through the day-to-day management of AR and AP, providing key inputs into the cash flow forecasts. · Drive collection from customers, managing the Debtor Days KPI. · Control payments to suppliers, managing the Creditor Days KPI. · Monitor bad debt risk, escalating as required to Business Unit Directors. · Ensure invoices are correctly coded at source in the GL. · Provide regular reporting to management on all AP/AR matters. · Perform credit checks on new customers and recommend/approve customer credit limits in line with Delegation of Authority. · Ensure ledger month end deadlines adhered to. · Liaise with Financial Accounting team to ensure ledger balances are reconciled to the general ledger ahead of balance sheet preparation. · Liaison with external auditors at year end. Essential Skills require d: · Working with accounts payable and receivables functions within a medium/large company. · Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity. · Ability to manage and develop teams. · Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines. · Skilled in written and oral communication. Desirable Skills required: · Working on a finance ERP or other system implementation project. · Experience of change management with regard to process changes. · Use of a purchase to pay system or exposure to mature purchase order process.
