Group Financial Accountant North Tawton, Head Office At Gregory Distribution Ltd (GDL), as a result of continued growth, we have a vacancy for a Group Financial Accountant based at our Head Office in North Tawton. This is an exciting opportunity to make your own within the GDL business . The position involves: · Being a key stakeholder, managing a number of the subject matter experts as part of the new finance system implementation project, driving process improvement and efficiency. · Increasing the level of financial rigour and controls across the business (Delegation of Authority, adherence to policies, deadlines, etc.). · Preparing the Group’s Annual Financial Statements, including the Group Consolidation. · Taking the lead on technical accounting compliance. · Developing and managing the tactical and strategic cash forecasting process, reporting on variances and taking corrective action as necessary. · Overseeing the reconciliation and control of the Group Balance Sheet. · Managing the processes for fixed assets, asset financing, banking and insurance, including direct liaison with third parties. · Acting as the point of contact for external auditors, including the planning and management of the annual audit. · Taking responsibility for direct and indirect tax matters, liaising directly with external tax advisors and HMRC as required. · Providing financial reporting and making recommendations to senior management as appropriate. · Overseeing all property, legal and company secretarial matters in conjunction with external advisors. · Leading and developing the Ledgers, Banking & Asset Finance and Financial Accounting teams, including recruitment, talent management and succession planning. · Deputising for the Head of Finance as appropriate. Essential Skills required: · Qualified accountant (ACA, FCCA, ACCA or equivalent), with a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience. · Strong numeric and analytical skills with a high attention to detail. · Multiple platform IT and reporting skills. · Delivery focussed with demonstrable evidence relating to task completion. · Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines. · Effective communicator, with the ability to develop internal and external relationships. · Ability to manage and develop teams.
