Business Development - pharmaceutical/ veterinary/pathology/medical Exeter Up to £30k bonus This is an amazing opportunity to work with a medical based company selling services into, and building relationships with clinical professionals. You will devise, lead and implement the sales and marketing strategy for head office and once successful processes are in place, you will be responsible for rolling these out to other branches and helping recruit, train and manage the new, remote sales team. Your initial project will be to strengthen existing relationships and exploit every opportunity those relationships bring. There is huge scope for cross selling other services and for building a source of referrals, as well as building new business with brand new customers within defined geographical areas. You will need the ability to pick up and use and understand medical terminology, so the role may suit someone who has worked in a medical/ pharmaceutical/ veterinary related role previously. What will the role as Business Development - pharmaceutical/ veterinary/pathology/medical involve? There are 5 main areas in which your role will concentrate on: Marketing Proactively identify opportunities to grow or business and client base Support and drive new business initiatives: Molecular testing and toxicology Referral Hospitals Build relationships with those responsible for organising CPD at our referral hospital clients so that speakers can talk at their local events in order to convert some of the first opinion practices CPD activity Develop relationships with regional coordinators in order to get speakers on the CPD rota Marketing literature Use customer feedback to assist with the design and layout of published articles, newsletters and pricelists Coordinate the branding of all literature produced by to ensure a consistent message CRM System Populate and use the CRM system to monitor marketing activity and success. The database should provide a good overview of what our clients do and should be used to target our marketing effort. For example, identify clients who use only some of the services on offer and cross sell other services, building awareness of the whole scope of services available to the client Identify and build relationships with key personnel within our current client base.
