Residential Registered Care Home Manager (NVQ Level 5 required) Our vision is to be recognised as the leading provider of high quality, person centred care for our residents. Our residential home for older people is located in a lovely leafy area of Exeter. The home offers comfortable en-suite bedrooms which are beautifully finished. We also have a separate unit from the residential home, which provides care and support for adults living with learning disabilities. Our residential home also offers a day care service for adults in the community who require additional care and support. About The Role To take responsibility as Registered Manager to manage all aspects in the day-to-day running of the Care Home. Promoting a caring environment which provides residents with a high standard of specialised personal care, meeting individual needs and ensuring everyone is treated with respect and dignity and rights to privacy, independence and choice are met. To supervise, monitor and evaluate the care delivered to resident's, checking legal requirements are met along with the high levels expected within The Care Homes. Job context: This is a managerial role, supervising and monitoring the team within the home therefore leadership qualities, effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential. These skills are also needed for developing good relationships with outside agencies, suppliers and professionals, along with regular liaison with residents, relatives, prospective employees and residents. As well as influencing and motivating skills, being able to work as part of one of the team is vital, helping out wherever necessary around the home. Key challenges: To effectively manage all aspects of the day to day running of the home whilst supervising and supporting the team, ensuring that the Care Home values of trust, respect and care are always maintained and that each team member treats residents in the way that they would expect to be treated themselves. Key measures: Supervision meetings with the Area Manager Results and feedback from Home inspections and audit reports (internal and external) All mandatory training is up to date Completion of a Management qualification Person specification: Strong I.T Skills Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a caring environment (preferably within care of older people) Minimum of 1 years proven experience working as a registered manager, or 3 years working as a deputy manager. NVQ 4 in Care or a Nursing Qualification Control and management of budgets and accounts Knowledge of the principles in sales and marketing, Skilled in the recruitment, selection and retention of staff Committed to a structured approach to training and development of staff Understanding of the Health & Social Care Act and Health & Safety legislation Excellent interpersonal skills Professional, confident and warm personality Have a caring disposition Leadership qualities, enthusiasm along with influencing and motivational skills.
