Over recent years, in what is now a highly competitive market, the company have worked tirelessly to set themselves aside from their competitors. They have achieved this by ensuring they, over and above, have employees that feel valued. On joining the business, all staff meet with their manager to map out the career they'd like to work towards. There exists excellent support to all staff no matter which route they choose - people management, project management, technical specialist or even something laterally, in a new discipline. This sees employees empowered with their own career with clear benchmarks for success and progression to their goals. As with any timeline / delivery driven environment, there will always be occasions where it is expected for Programmers to contribute additional time. The organisation is very conscious not to fall foul of the overworked & under appreciated (60 hour week) culture that some of its direct competitors have. They expect the best from their Programmers within reasonable working hours, and ensure they are recognised for their work. Concerning the role itself: the Manager of Programming will act as Project Lead on complex or large studies. They will define and oversee project milestones, budgets and programming resource. They will represent, and be fully accountable for the programming portions of clinical studies at cross functional meetings, and hire, train, mentor and line manage a small team of Programmers. I manage a range of other permanent and freelance positions for a broad portfolio of clients (Biotech, CRO and Pharma). If the above role isn't for you but you'd nevertheless like to discuss your options in the market, I'd welcome a confidential discussion by phone or email. Contact Daniel Cheetham at (617) 982 1238.
