Technical Asset Manager. Location: Midlands Salary: up to £42,000 Green Recruitment Solutions are currently seeking an experienced Technical Asset Manager to join a leading renewable energy asset management firm and their specialist Solar PV team in the South West. This role is with a broadly reaching firm, with many Investment and Asset pursuits, with a specific focus on renewable energy and infrastructure; acquirement and asset management. The role involves the successful candidate taking a leading role in the Technical dealings of the firm's Solar PV assets and portfolio in the South West of the UK; including operational and HSE performance of the clients Solar Parks. Responsibilities: - The successfully placed Technical Manager will be responsible for HSE and operational performance of all 3rd Party Solar Parks for the client. They will also oversee all contractor activities related to the assets under management; ensuring maximised MWh production against efficiencies (performance ratio) and reducing costs and health and safety incidents against estimated budgets - You will be ultimately responsible for the effective and proficient management and delivery of all services on site. You will also ensure that the assets under management agreement, within the client/owner(s) portfolio, for all the UK Solar parks are protected and have their values enhanced as per the instruction of the client. This also includes managing the close out of construction punch list items - Tracking and monitoring KPIs based on production, availability, efficiency, performance, ratios, grid up/downtime. This includes applying knowledge and understanding of the underlying causes of downtime for each solar park and being proactive with contractors to reduce the risk of such events occurring - Depended upon to complete regular reviews of performance, including reviewing and evaluating all service contractors for compliance and contractual obligations. This duty of care must include regular meetings with contractors, ensuring all staff meet and exceed performance targets (availability / performance / efficiencies), H&S is adhered to (legislations, planning, training) and defects, issues, maintenance and security and communications systems are regularly checked, corrected and upgrades/changes made (ensuring technical resolutions to equipment faults) - Providing the necessary preparations and monthly management report input, for the clients' Solar assets, including HSE commentary, KPI review, performance analyst feedback and cost/balance review - Carry out bi-annual site inspections of each park, providing feedback and reports and ensuring all repair and maintenance works are carried out accordingly by the contractors - Liaising with the grid network operator, management of the grid connections, technical advisers, inspectors and commercial site manager to ensure that all inspections, reports, improvements and insurance claims are carried out as required and to the highest standard - Ensure all assets and sites comply with planning consents and land management strategy; in line with the clients specifications - Have the technical competency and confidence to recommend technical, design and contractual improvements; working closely with the PV Performance Analysts to improve site performance (MWh and PR) Essential Requirements: - Ideally qualified to Degree Level or above with relevant Engineering specialism. However, solid experience in any relevant Engineering role or field, to the same standard, would be considered advantageous too (so long as sufficient evidence could be provided) - Ideally possessing at least 3 years of experience and a strong track record of work in the electricity industry - A solid knowledge of the electricity and/or Solar PV market, including and an established and competent technical ability in relation to electricity generation, solar parks and managing performance/operational assets. This also includes ability to operate assets to quality standards and ensure best practise and technical specifications are adhered to; based on regulated and legislated requirements - Willing to travel frequently (predominantly around the South of the UK) - A passionate and strongly confident self-starter willing to use their in-depth knowledge and interest in the renewable energy industry to challenge and improve the assets under their supervision, following best practise to drastically improve and safely maintain the portfolio for the client and community alike - Strong interpersonal and rapport building skills, able to utilise these with a diverse range of clients and colleagues alike (from grassroots, to contractors, to senior stakeholders) - A professional approach, ability to comprehend complex matters and manage expectations to deliver quality standards consistently; whilst doing so with minimal supervision. At the same time, you must be able to understand the need to engage with all other members of specialist teams; to maximise profit and optimise asset standards - Resilient professional with strong capability to operate autonomously, optimally and efficiently within a fast-paced, private equity-backed environment
