Database Developer - T-SQL, Agile, SQL Server, SSRS. Database Developer required for an expanding company to assist in the development & support of database solutions for both internal & external customers. Permanent post in a fabulous part of the world. Title: Database Developer Location: Exeter, commutable from Plymouth, Launceston, Bristol, Taunton, Yeovil. Duration: Permanent Post. These represent the combination of a number of highly successful & well recognised solutions, with market leading positions in the provision of digital based point-of-care decision support knowledge bases as well as actionable orders, rules & guidance. This includes international healthcare IT businesses outside of the UK in Australia, Middle East, US & Canada. Following a consolidate & shift emphasis from desktop applications to larger enterprise systems the client has also undergone a cultural transformation resulting in the widespread adoption of Agile development. These factors combined amount to a step-change in technical complexity & the need for effective software product development, the latter being capable of meeting the functionality & high-quality demanded by health information systems. Role. The Database Developer will spend most, if not all of their time working within an Agile development team, & thus it is essential that they excel at teamwork & agile working practices as well as being technically proficient. Although primarily focused on development the role also carries an element of database administration that may vary with changing business requirements. It is expected that all database developers will be specialists in Microsoft database technology & highly proficient in the T-SQL language. Whatever technical bias is present, the need for testing skill in the same person is essential to avoid costly handovers & make the best use of practices such as TDD. Specific Duties Design, develop & test database applications for both internal & external business systems. Liaise with internal & external customers, understanding & documenting their requirements in the form of user stories & supporting analysis. Work with project teams which encompass personnel from different areas of expertise & discuss technical issues in a non-technical language. Participate in structured testing, including design reviews, code walkthroughs & inspections. Participate in agile development & actively contribute to the continuous improvement of the process. Contribute to maintenance & 'business as usual' activities including the electronic preparation & publication of content, database administration & the resolution of data errors. Skills. Evidence of high-level participation in database orientated commercial projects utilising the skills listed below. Agile & Scrum. Analysis and design. T-SQL development in Microsoft SQL Server.
